Assam Finance Minister Ajanta Neog has announced that the state budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2023-24 will be presented to the Assam Legislative Assembly on March 16. Neog has emphasized that the budget will focus on addressing socioeconomic issues in the state and will have positive news for women. Last year, the state government made efforts to fulfill promises stated in the previous year’s nine-month budget, which were quite effective.
Furthermore, Neog has announced that the administration will be creating 40,000 new job posts between May 10 and May 20. The announcement was made during the ongoing budget session of the Assam Legislative Assembly on March 15. In the last 18 months, the Assam state government has already been able to provide jobs to over 40,000 unemployed youths.
Assam CM, while attending an appointment letter distribution program of the Fishery & Veterinary Department at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakhetra, Panjabari on February 22, also reiterated the state government’s commitment to fulfilling the promise of providing 1 lakh job opportunities to unemployed youths.
Cabinet minister Jayanta Mallabaruah has also announced that polytechnic students under diploma courses in engineering in Assam will be awarded recognition from the State Council of Technical Education, Assam at par with Higher Secondary. These developments indicate the Assam state government’s focus on improving employment opportunities and technical education in the state.
