Born in a small beautiful village of Budgam in kashmir, Dr. Harvinder Jeet Kour was bought up in Srinagar. Since childhood she was greatly entranced by the beauty of kashmir which later on became the core subject of her poetry. Her parents both in education department have been her greatest support and mentors. She began her writing journey at age of 19 when she wrote her first quote , “A good thing never comes to you easily, you have to pay a price for it. Even wishing wells demand coins”. Being in a challenging profession of Veterinary sciences, this quote was inspired by hardwork ,struggle and perseverance that her degree demanded & this hardwork was paid off when she qualified JKPSC in 2019 & got selected as Veterinary surgeon in Sheep husbandry dept. Kashmir. Later on she began to write poetry depicting the mesmerizing beauty of Kashmir. Her poems on kashmir include , Winter in kashmir, The tulip garden of kashmir, Autumn in the Valley, Chinar, the pride of kashmir , which are available on yourquote app, a social media writing platform. One of her poetry ,The Tulip garden of kashmir, got featured on a “Kashmir ink”, A Greater kashmir publication. Her writings are also featured on various Instagram pages like @Astutewriterscorner,& The SharedPen Official. Her poem, ‘The lone standing tree’ & ‘ Chinar, the pride of kashmir’, were announced as “Writing of the week” by @thesharedpenofficial writing page on Instagram. She has recently co-authored a book named “A Token of love to her” , in which she has described the love & sacrifices of mother in a poetic and affectionate manner. She’s currently working as Veterinary surgeon at Small ruminant hospital, Srinagar and despite her hectic job she always finds time for her poetry & writings.
