Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced a significant milestone in the state’s economic growth, revealing a 50% surge in revenue since the BJP came into power in 2016. This remarkable growth is attributed to the state’s own revenue, which has been steadily increasing over the years.
In the fiscal year 2021-22, Assam’s total revenue stood at Rs 23,113 crore, which rose to Rs 30,263 crore in FY 2022-23. The revenue further increased to Rs 34,081 crore in FY 2023-24, reflecting consistent growth and fiscal health.
CM Sarma emphasized the state’s progress toward fiscal self-reliance and its commitment to driving infrastructure and social development through internal resources. He assured that the state will continue to focus on bolstering economic growth and development through sustainable revenue generation strategies.
This achievement is a testament to the state’s efforts to strengthen its internal revenue streams, and CM Sarma has pledged to continue these efforts unabated. With this significant milestone, Assam is poised for further economic growth and development.
