Assam Election Result 2026: BJP-Led Alliance Wins 102 Seats, Forms Government for Third Consecutive Term

Guwahati, 5 May 2026: In a landslide victory that has reshaped Assam’s political landscape, the BJP-led NDA alliance has once again emerged victorious in the Assam Election Result 2026. The alliance has secured a comfortable majority by winning 102 seats in the 126-member Assam Legislative Assembly, paving the way for the formation of a stable government for the third consecutive time.

According to the final tally, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alone has won 82 seats, while its alliance partners — Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) — have together won 10 seats. This decisive mandate reflects strong public support for the incumbent government led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

In contrast, the Congress-led opposition alliance was restricted to just 21 seats. The Congress managed 19 seats, AIUDF won 2 seats, and Trinamool Congress secured 1 seat. The poor performance of the opposition has left them far from challenging the ruling alliance.
