In a glittering ceremony held in Nha Trang, Vietnam, on September 5, the Dominican Republic’s Joheirry Mola was crowned the new Miss World 2026, becoming the latest winner of the world’s longest-running international beauty pageant.

Reigning Miss World Opal Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand placed the iconic crown on Mola’s head, marking a proud moment for the Caribbean nation. Spain’s Elisabeth Reynes was named first runner-up, while Malaysia’s Taanusiya Chetty secured second runner-up.

According to the Miss World organisation, Joheirry Mola is a model from Santo Domingo who holds a degree in Business Management and Administration from Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE). Alongside her modelling career, she works as a teacher and leads the social initiative Voices of Tomorrow.

The project focuses on supporting children and young people by helping them build confidence, develop essential skills, and prepare for future opportunities and global challenges.

“This project is based on the belief that our children deserve much more than the basics. They deserve opportunities that build inclusion, confidence, and a strong foundation for the future,” Mola said.
