Entrepreneurship in the region of Kashmir has faced a number of challenges, including political instability, economic uncertainty, and a lack of resources. Additionally, the region has been subject to strict government controls, which has made it difficult for businesses to operate.
Despite these challenges, there are a number of entrepreneurs in the region who are working to overcome these obstacles and build successful businesses. One example is Khan Kesar Mahal, which sells dryfruits and other products from the region both online and in offline stores, connecting artisans with customers around the world.

So the game began changing when Izzat Khan, owner of Khan Kesar Mahal, realized that there was a huge demand for dry fruits in India but not enough supply. He decided to fill this gap by sourcing high-quality dry fruits from his native place Pampore and rest of the Kashmir and selling them online at competitive prices. He also started offering other items such as perfumes (itar), spices, nuts, oils and some saffron based beauty products to name a few, offering custom packaging services to his customers so that they could get their orders delivered right at their doorstep. This allowed Khan to diversify his product range and increase profits significantly.

Khan’s business has been growing steadily ever since he started it and he now employs several people in his team who help him manage orders, packaging, and delivery of products. Apart from his online venture www.khankesarmahal.com, he also uses social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram to promote his business and reach out to more customers.
“My father was already into a business, that’s where it caught my interest and i chose to go with emerging as an entrepreneur. That’s where I thought to take this dry fruit business to a next level with some technological assistance, giving it a platform to thrive in modern day businesses”, said Izzat Khan.
“I started this venture with few people and did everything required to start with. From branding to licencing and testing we got everything done to make our brand a trusted one. With Allah’s grace, a number of 10-12 people are employed in my venture and the number keeps adding”, he added.
Today, Izzat Khan’s business is thriving with customers from all over India who are coming to purchase his products. His success has also been recognized by many national news publications like ANI and it’s distributors, making him one fine entrepreneur.
