BJP to Select New Manipur Chief Minister on February 12

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) high command will convene a crucial meeting in Delhi on February 12 to choose Manipur’s next chief minister. This decision follows the resignation of N. Biren Singh, who stepped down as chief minister on February 9 amid speculation of a no-confidence motion .

All BJP legislators from Manipur have been summoned to attend the meeting, with ten Kuki MLAs potentially joining the discussions. The leadership selection is a significant development in Manipur’s politics, which has been marred by ethnic clashes and political uncertainty.

The BJP’s meeting on February 12 is expected to bring clarity on Manipur’s leadership and the party’s strategy for the state.
