Guwahati, May 1: Campaigning for the first phase of Assam’s panchayat elections ended on Wednesday, with polling set for May 2 across 14 districts, including Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, and Cachar. The ruling NDA, led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, has already secured 325 seats uncontested, while Congress campaigned aggressively for its candidates.
