AIUDF Vows Corruption-Free Panchayats in Assam, Releases Manifesto for 2025 Polls

Guwahati, April 30, 2025: The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) has unveiled its election manifesto for the upcoming Assam Panchayat Elections 2025, promising a corruption-free panchayat system and greater transparency in grassroots governance.

The party’s General Secretary and MLA, Rafiqul Islam, announced the manifesto, emphasizing AIUDF’s commitment to ending corruption that has “plagued panchayats under both BJP and Congress regimes.” The elections will be held in two phases—May 2 and 7.

Key Promises in AIUDF’s Manifesto

  • Eradicating Corruption: Islam accused previous administrations of mismanagement and vowed to establish accountable governance.
  • Fair Welfare Distribution: Ensuring equitable access to government schemes for all communities.
  • Community Participation: Strengthening public involvement in local decision-making.

While the full manifesto hasn’t been made public, Islam stated that the AIUDF aims to provide a credible alternative to Assam’s voters, focusing on development and integrity in village councils.

Political Significance

The panchayat polls are seen as a litmus test for major parties, including the ruling BJP and opposition Congress. AIUDF, with its stronghold in certain districts, hopes its anti-corruption stance will appeal to disillusioned voters.

As campaigning intensifies, the spotlight remains on whether AIUDF’s promises will translate into electoral gains in the fiercely contested grassroots battle.
