Guwahati, Assam:In a significant step toward modernizing education, Assam Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu unveiled “Nipun Mitra,” an AI-powered app designed to assist educators and researchers, during a national seminar at Dispur College in Guwahati on Wednesday.
Developed by Barpeta-based educator Prasanjit Sarma, Nipun Mitra serves as a comprehensive resource for education professionals, offering insights into the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the National Curriculum Framework (NCF), and the Nipun Bharat and Nipun Axom Missions. The app enables teachers to create lesson plans focused on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), aiming to enhance learning outcomes for primary school students.
One of the standout features of Nipun Mitra is its multilingual support, including Assamese and over 100 global languages, making it accessible to a wide range of users. Dr. Pegu praised the app as a “milestone in Assam’s journey toward educational excellence” and highlighted its potential to bridge the gap between policy and practice.
In addition to Nipun Mitra, the Education Minister also launched “Anveshan,” an e-magazine by the All Assam BRP Forum. The event underscored Assam’s commitment to integrating technology into education and improving learning outcomes through innovative tools.
The launch of Nipun Mitra marks a transformative step in leveraging AI to empower educators and reshape the educational landscape in Assam.
