Guwahati, March 14: In a stunning disclosure, it has been revealed that the recent HSLC paper leak case for the General Science subject involved a far-reaching network of students and teachers. The question papers were sold for as much as Rs. 500 to Rs. 2,000 and were spread via social media.
The police have detained 8 students and one person found to be involved in the case, with the person being the main accused. Most of the students involved were from Salt Brook Academy in Dibrugarh, with others from Jagun and Dhemaji. The police are still investigating the case to determine how many students received the question paper.
The HSLC examination for the General Science subject was cancelled after the question paper leaked on social media. The cancelled examination will now be held on March 30 in all the centres in the state. The state education minister, Ranoj Pegu, shared the notification on his official Twitter handle.
Dibrugarh Superintendent of Police Shwetank Mishra said that the legal process would be followed in the case, and action would be taken based on the involvement of each person. The police are still on the field investigating the case and trying to find links to other networks involved in the leak.
