Maharashtra has entered the final by defeating Assam by 12 runs in the second semi-final of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy.
In the match played in Ahmedabad, Maharashtra scored 350/7 with the help of centuries from captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (168) and Ankit Bawne (110).
In response, Assam’s team could not achieve the target despite a struggling innings (95) of Swaroopam Purkayastha.

Maharashtra won in interesting match
Playing first after losing the toss, Rahul Tripathi (3) from Maharashtra was dismissed soon. However, Gaikwad and Bawne took the team to a big score by scoring centuries. Apart from these, Satyajit Bachchan contributed 41 runs.
In reply, Shivshankar Roy (78), Rishav Das (53) and Purkayastha hit half-centuries but Assam could only manage 338 for eight wickets. On the other hand, Rajvardhan Hangergekar from Maharashtra took the maximum four wickets (4/65).
Maharashtra will face Saurashtra in the final
In the final, Maharashtra will face Saurashtra, who defeated Karnataka in the first semi-final. The title match will be played on December 02 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
