The authority of Dibrugarh University has suspended three wardens of the hostel of the varsity days after a first-semester postgraduate student of jumped off his hostel building after allegedly being fed up with being ragged.
Dr Jiten Hazarika, Vice Chancellor of Dibrugarh University told Asom Barta, “Three wardens of Padma Nath Gohain Baruah Chatra Nivas (PNGB hostel) have been suspended. We will appoint three new wardens and the process is on.”
The warderns has been identifed as Dibojoti Dutta, Abu Mustak Hussian and Palash Dutta. Further, the VC urged all the students who have left the hostel out of fear of ragging to return back and continue with their studies.
