“Suspected Drones Spotted Over Samba in J&K, Indian Forces Engage”

Suspected Drones Spotted Over Samba, Engaged by Indian Forces

Samba, Jammu & Kashmir – Suspected drones were spotted and engaged by Indian security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district on Monday, defense sources confirmed. The incident comes just days after India and Pakistan agreed to halt cross-border firing along the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC).

Ceasefire Violation Amid Truce
Despite the May 10 ceasefire understanding, Pakistan has reportedly violated the agreement multiple times. Earlier, on May 8, Indian forces intercepted multiple Pakistani drones in Samba, Jammu, Akhnoor, Nagrota, Amritsar, and Pathankot.

Recent Escalations
The latest drone sightings follow heightened tensions after India’s Operation Sindoor—a precision strike targeting terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. Over 100 terrorists were reportedly killed in the operation.

Pakistan retaliated with drone attacks on Indian military bases in Jammu, Udhampur, and Pathankot. Hours after the ceasefire announcement, Pakistan violated the truce, prompting India to enforce a red alert in Srinagar following multiple blasts.

Drone Interceptions Continue
Indian forces have successfully shot down drones in Rajasthan’s Pokhran and Baramulla, Kashmir, in recent days. Authorities remain on high alert as cross-border tensions persist.
