Sairaj Bahutule Appointed as New Spin Bowling Coach of Indian Cricket Team
Mumbai: In a significant boost to India’s spin department, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday officially appointed former India spinner Sairaj Bahutule as the Spin Bowling Coach of the Senior Men’s Cricket Team.
The BCCI confirmed the exciting development through an official media statement, marking a new chapter in India’s spin bowling legacy. Sairaj Bahutule, who represented India in 2 Tests and 8 ODIs, brings a massive 630 first-class wickets and nearly two decades of domestic dominance to the role.
Rich Experience and Proven Track Record
Sairaj Bahutule has established himself as one of the most respected spin coaches in Indian cricket. His coaching journey includes successful stints as Head Coach of Vidarbha, Kerala, Gujarat, and Bengal. He has also served as spin bowling coach for IPL franchises Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings.
Notably, Bahutule played a key role in India’s ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup triumph in 2022 as the Bowling Coach. He was also part of the coaching staff for the 2024 edition and has worked extensively with India A and senior teams as a specialist spin coach at the BCCI’s National Cricket Academy.
