IRCTC Launches New Beta Website With 7 Powerful Upgrades for Faster Ticket Booking

New Delhi: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched a new beta version of its website on Wednesday to provide passengers with a faster, smoother, and more user-friendly ticket booking experience. The beta website has been released on a trial basis, allowing users to explore its new features and share feedback before the final version is rolled out.

The redesigned platform focuses on improving the overall user experience through a cleaner interface, simplified navigation, and a more efficient ticket booking process. The initiative is part of IRCTC’s broader effort to modernize its digital services for millions of railway passengers across India.

One of the key highlights of the IRCTC new website is its fresh and clutter-free design. The beta version removes unnecessary pop-ups, flashing graphics, and other distracting elements that often slowed down the booking process. This creates a more streamlined and hassle-free experience, especially during peak booking hours.

Another major addition is the ‘Saved Passenger Details’ feature. Frequent travellers can now save passenger information within their accounts, eliminating the need to enter the same details every time they book a ticket. This feature is expected to significantly reduce booking time and improve convenience for regular users.

According to IRCTC, several improvements introduced in the beta website were inspired by suggestions made by students of the Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) during an interaction with the Railway Minister. Their recommendations focused on enhancing usability, simplifying navigation, and improving the overall digital experience for passengers.

IRCTC has also confirmed that the beta version is open for user feedback. The corporation will continue refining the platform based on suggestions and real-world usage before making it the primary booking portal.

In the coming months, the new website will be integrated with the Indian Railways’ upcoming Passenger Reservation Engine (PRE), a next-generation reservation system designed to enhance booking speed, reliability, and overall system performance.

The launch of the beta website marks another important step in Indian Railways’ digital transformation journey. Once fully implemented, the upgraded platform is expected to provide passengers with a faster, simpler, and more efficient online ticket booking experience while supporting the growing demand for railway reservations across the country.
