CTET Exam Postponed 2026: CBSE Reopens Application Window Till September 1
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially reopened the application window for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) September 2026, effectively leading to a CTET exam postponed schedule. Eligible candidates who missed the earlier deadline can now apply online through the official website ctet.nic.in until September 1, 2026.
The decision to reopen the 21st CTET 2026 application window came after CBSE received requests from a large number of eligible candidates who could not submit their forms during the original registration period (May 11 to June 6, 2026).
According to the official notice, the Supreme Court has emphasised the need to give eligible teachers a reasonable opportunity to meet the statutory TET qualification requirement. “In view of the aforesaid and in the larger interest of candidates, it has been decided to provide an opportunity to all eligible candidates who could not avail themselves of the earlier application window by opening the online application portal from 25.08.2026 to 01.09.2026,” the board stated.
Candidates who have already successfully submitted their applications need not apply again.
The CTET September 2026 examination was earlier scheduled for September 6, 2026, in two shifts. However, the revised date for the 22nd edition of the CTET examination will be announced only after September 1, confirming the CTET exam postponed status until further notice.
How to Apply for CTET 2026 (Reopened Window)
Candidates can complete the application process in simple steps:
- Visit the official website – ctet.nic.in
- Complete the CTET registration process
