Patna: In a shocking late-night incident, Educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, faced a brazen attack outside his coaching institute near Musallahpur Haat in Patna on Tuesday. Miscreants allegedly fired 8-10 rounds, vandalized the premises, and assaulted the security guard, raising serious concerns over the safety of educators providing affordable education.
According to Khan Sir, the attackers targeted his institute after hundreds of his students recently cleared the Bihar Police recruitment exam. He claimed rival coaching centres felt threatened by his low-fee model and massive success rate. “They think they can suppress us. The attackers completely vandalized the office and opened fire. I heard 10 rounds of gunfire,” Khan Sir told media persons.
The security guard suffered a serious head injury after being thrashed by the miscreants when he tried to stop them. He was immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment. Khan Sir also revealed prior threats, including warnings to blow up the institute within two days.
Khan Sir Patna Firing has sparked outrage among students and locals who credit the popular educator for making quality education accessible to the poor. “The main issue seems to be why we are teaching for such low fees and producing thousands of results,” he added, appealing to the administration for better security.
Patna Police SSP Kartikeya K. Sharma confirmed that teams are examining CCTV footage handed over by the institute and questioning locals. “Anyone found involved will be prosecuted,” the SSP stated. An official police release mentioned stone pelting, ruckus, and vandalism by anti-social elements without confirming the firing.
