Guwahati, December 14, 2025 – Renowned Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam visited the iconic Maa Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati this morning, seeking divine blessings just hours before his highly anticipated solo live concert in the city.
The playback legend, who arrived in Guwahati on Saturday, performed puja and archana at the famous Shakti Peeth atop Nilachal Hill. Fans gathered in large numbers to catch a glimpse of the singer and take photographs, while Nigam shared a heartfelt video of his visit on social media, reflecting his devotion and joy.
This marks Nigam’s first-ever solo concert in Guwahati, kicking off his ‘Deewana Tera Tour’ at Greenwood Resort this evening, starting at 7 PM. Following Guwahati, the tour will continue to Indore, Jaipur, and Lucknow.
Nigam’s decision to launch the tour in Assam is deeply personal, stemming from his close friendship with the late Assamese music icon Zubeen Garg, who passed away earlier this year. The singer has expressed profound admiration for the unity and respect shown by Assam’s people in honoring Garg, stating that he has never witnessed such heartfelt affection elsewhere.
“I have not seen the kind of love and respect anywhere in the world that the people of Assam have shown,” Nigam said. He further added that Assam’s warmth and sincerity have created a bond beyond music, even joking that if reborn, he would choose Assam as his birthplace.
The concert comes on the heels of American rapper Post Malone’s performance in Guwahati, highlighting the city’s rising status as a hub for major international and Indian musical events.
Fans are eagerly awaiting an emotional evening filled with Nigam’s timeless hits and tributes, adding a new chapter to Assam’s vibrant cultural scene.
