On Thursday, a Cotton University student committed suicide at her home in the Goreswar area of Baksa district, Assam. She was in the fifth semester of her undergraduate studies at Cotton University in the Department of Mathematics.
According to reports, she was staying at the Swahid Kanaklata Girls Hostel. She later changed to PG. Her body was discovered hanging at her home in Goreswar. The student lived at home with her parents.
According to the Officer-In-Charge (OC) of Goreswar Police Station, a suicide note was discovered and the body was sent for a postmortem. According to a source, she described her financial situation in her suicide note, which read, “My financial situation is very bad, I am horrible looking, I hate my life.”
