Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on November 8th, 2022, while inaugurating the Raas festival at Garamur Bangshigopal Dev Natya Mandir, Majuli, urged the people of the state to contribute to build a society based on spirituality and moral values.
Speaking on the occasion, Sarma said, “People should not allow their human births to get wasted. They should follow the motto Work is Worship, Duty is God.”
Appealing the people of the river island district to set an example of generous hospitality to the visiting tourists, the CM said that Indian culture is based on the motto of ‘Atithi Debo Bhava’. “Majuli’s natural beauty, legacy, cultural heritage and history must be preserved and the people of Majuli have an important role to play in this regard,” he added.
