Rahul Gandhi Launches Satyagraha Platform to Unite Protests Across India Against Injustice

Rahul Gandhi Launches Satyagraha Platform to Stand With People Where Truth Is Crushed

New Delhi: Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Saturday launched the ‘Satyagraha’ digital platform, calling it a new tool to bring together people fighting injustice across the country. He said the initiative would help those “wherever truth is being crushed.”

Speaking a day after the 157th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi urged citizens to register their protests on the platform. “Across the country, people are fighting for their rights and too often, fighting alone. Gen Z, students, farmers, Adivasis, Dalits, women — every struggle has its own story. But a lone voice is often easier to silence. ‘Satyagraha’ is an initiative to bring these voices together on one map,” he posted on X.

Invoking the Father of the Nation, Gandhi said, “Bapu taught us that truth is our greatest weapon. But an even greater weapon is standing together with the truth. If you too are fighting against any injustice, share your story. It will take just two minutes.” He promised that each protest would appear on the Satyagraha map so people could see others fighting similar battles.

In a video message released with the announcement, the Raebareli MP explained that multiple protests over land rights, women’s rights, Dalit and OBC rights, education and exams are currently underway. “We want to help organise these protests, put them together on one map, and work together with you to see if we can help you resolve what you’re fighting for. Take a look at the Satyagraha website. Fill out the form. Enrol your movement on the website, and we will try to see how we can support you,” he said.

Gandhi added that as Leader of the Opposition it was his duty to support resistance wherever truth is suppressed — whether in Parliament, on the streets or through letters.

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh welcomed the launch and linked it to recent events. He criticised police action on Friday against people protesting against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, in which at least 700 demonstrators were detained. “Yesterday, we all witnessed how, on Gandhi Jayanti, the Home Minister’s police displayed barbarity against people peacefully protesting on the path shown by Bapu,” Ramesh said. He stressed that the Satyagraha website aims to unite all such voices of resistance under one platform.

The Congress party has positioned the new digital initiative as a modern continuation of Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of non-violent resistance, adapted for today’s fragmented protest landscape. Citizens can now share their stories in under two minutes and see their struggles mapped alongside others fighting for similar causes.

With the Satyagraha platform now live, Rahul Gandhi has signalled that the opposition intends to stay connected with grassroots movements nationwide and amplify voices that might otherwise remain isolated.
