Assam Major Administrative Reshuffle 2026: 8 District Commissioners Transferred | Latest DC Postings

The Assam government has implemented a major administrative reshuffle in the state bureaucracy, transferring and reassigning several senior officials, including 8 district commissioners (also known as Deputy Commissioners or DCs). Key Transfers and Postings in the Administrative Reshuffle:

Partha Pratim Mazumdar, previously serving as Additional Secretary in the Home Department, has been transferred and appointed as the new District Commissioner of Bajali.
Narendra Kumar Shah, who held the position of Additional Director at AIIDC (Assam Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation), has been transferred and assigned additional responsibility as Additional Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
Priti Kumari has been posted as the new District Commissioner of West Karbi Anglong following her transfer.
Ayushi Jain, formerly Joint Secretary in the Finance Department, has been transferred and appointed as District Commissioner of Darrang.
Minakshi Das Nath has been relieved from her additional charge as Additional Director of ASDMA (Assam State Disaster Management Authority).
Pubali Gohain, the outgoing District Commissioner of Darrang, has been reassigned as District Commissioner of Golaghat.
Sarang Pani Sharma, previously District Commissioner of West Karbi Anglong, has been transferred and posted as Secretary to the Transport Department.
Gautam Das, District Commissioner of Baksa, has been given the charge of Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development (P&RD) Department.
Jatin Bora, who was serving as District Commissioner of Chirang, has been assigned as Secretary to the General Administration Department.
Pranavjit Kakati, the District Commissioner of Lakhimpur, has been transferred and entrusted with additional responsibility in the Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department.
