Guwahati, February 10, 2025: Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, in a video conference with District Commissioners (DCs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs), emphasized the urgent need to prioritize the implementation of eight key welfare schemes aimed at improving the lives of the people in the state. The conference, held from Raj Bhavan, was attended by Chief Secretary Dr. Ravi Kota and focused on ensuring the effective execution of these initiatives.
Governor Acharya highlighted the pivotal role of DCs and SPs in the successful rollout of these programs. He stated, “Your commitment and efficiency are crucial for the effective execution of these welfare schemes. It is essential to ensure that the benefits reach the most marginalized sections of society swiftly and transparently.”
The schemes, launched on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, aim to empower youth, promote leadership, and enhance skill development in Assam. Governor Acharya also reiterated India’s focus on youth empowerment under PM Modi’s leadership, emphasizing the need for collaboration among all stakeholders.
To support the implementation process, Raj Bhavan will provide logistical support and resources to organizations like Nehru Yuva Kendra, Sainik Welfare Directorate, NCC, and NSS. The Governor called for full cooperation from all officials to ensure the schemes’ success.
The eight schemes include: 1. Governor Assam’s Pratibha Protsahan Yojana 2. Governor Assam’s Vishwakarma Samman 3. Governor Assam’s Award for Excellence 4. Governor Assam’s Bhasha Protsahan Yojana 5. Governor Assam’s Varishtha Shikshak Samman 6. Governor Assam Rashtriya Kritagyata Evam Jagrookta Yojana 7. Governor Assam Amrit Sarovar – Sadbhavna Sangat Protsahan Yojana 8. Governor Assam Kartavya se Vikas Yojana
