Dubai, December 21, 2025 – Pakistan U19 opener Sameer Minhas delivered a masterful performance in the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2025 final, smashing a brilliant 172 off 113 balls to propel his team to a commanding 347/8 against India U19 at the ICC Academy Ground.
Minhas, who walked in with the pressure of a high-stakes India-Pakistan final, shed any nerves quickly and took control from the outset. He raced to his century in just 71 balls, peppering the boundary with 17 fours and 9 sixes. His knock surpassed Sami Aslam’s 134 from the 2012 final, making it the highest individual score in an U19 Asia Cup final – and the first 150-plus innings in such a match.
What stood out was Minhas’ composure on the big stage. In youth finals that often turn chaotic, the young batter dictated terms, rotating the strike effortlessly while clearing the ropes with calculated aggression. He was closing in on a potential double century before a mis-hit off Deepesh Devendran’s bowling ended his innings, caught for 172.
Supported by partnerships including a 137-run stand with Ahmed Hussain (56), Minhas helped Pakistan recover from an early wicket and post a mammoth total. India pulled things back late with wickets, but the damage was done.
In a tournament showcasing emerging talent, Minhas’ historic knock provided the standout headline, marking him as a future star for Pakistan cricket.
India now face a daunting chase of 348 to claim a record-extending ninth title, while Pakistan eye their first since 2012.
