Gaurav Gogoi to Challenge Himanta’s Allegations, Advocates Tough Stance on Pakistan
Guwahati, May 26: Newly appointed Assam Congress President Gaurav Gogoi has vowed to counter Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s allegations against him “on Assam’s soil.” Gogoi, currently touring Bihar, addressed reporters, stating he would respond to Sarma’s claims—including insinuations about his British wife’s alleged Pakistan links—once back in Assam.
Gogoi expressed gratitude to Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge for entrusting him with the state presidency. He also emphasized the party’s firm stance on Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack, aligning with Rahul Gandhi’s call for a decisive response.
“I will elaborate further at a public meeting in Muzaffarpur tomorrow,” Gogoi added. The Congress leader’s assertive tone signals a combative approach ahead of Assam’s political battles.
