Staff Reporter, Guwahati, November 7, 2025: Nearly 50 days after the mysterious death of Assam’s music icon Zubeen Garg, the investigation has taken a fresh turn. On Friday morning, Zubeen’s former manager, Tarchem Mittal, appeared at the CID office and recorded his statement before the Special Investigation Team (SIT). The development has once again brought Zubeen’s financial dealings and personal relationships under the spotlight.
Following Zubeen’s demise, the SIT has been summoning several individuals close to him. Former manager Tarchem Mittal is among those called in. Having managed Zubeen’s career for a long period, Mittal possesses in-depth knowledge of the singer’s financial management as well as various aspects of his personal life. Authorities hope his testimony will reveal crucial information for the probe.
Notably, Mittal was summoned after allegations of financial irregularities involving Zubeen Garg surfaced publicly. After Mittal stepped down from his role, Siddharth Sharma was appointed as Zubeen’s new manager. Sources reveal that Sharma secured the position on Mittal’s recommendation. Currently, Siddharth Sharma is in judicial custody on charges linked to Zubeen’s death. It has also come to light that Mittal and Sharma shared a close relationship, further complicating the investigation.
CID officials have indicated that Mittal’s statement may shed light on Zubeen’s recent activities, financial transactions, and management-related matters. The investigating team is expected to take further steps based on this evidence.
