Dr Mineswar Hazarika receives ‘Bharat Gaurav’ award.

Guwahati, Feb 15: Dr Mineshwar Hazarika, retired professor of the College of Veterinary Science under Assam Agricultural University, was conferred with the ‘Bharat Gaurav’ award for 2024-25 by the Bharat Vikas Sangam recently in Karnataka by Dharmacharjya of Mathura Geeta Ashram Aveshananda Maharaj, in presence of Pujja K.N. Govinda Acharjya, founder Bharat Bikash Sangam and Bhasvaraj Patil Sedam, Chief Adviser of Bharat Bikash Sangam.

The award was presented to Dr Hazarika on February 5 last at the 7th Indian Cultural Festival held in Gulbarga, Karnataka. The award was given in recognition of his selfless service to society through the Lok Tirth Datavya Nyas, a charitable trust founded by him.

Dr Hazarika has been providing various services to the people, including free food and accommodation to cancer patients and financially weak individuals visiting Guwahati for medical treatment. The trust has also been organizing training programmes on agriculture, environment preservation, Pollution control, Animal husbandry, food processing, yoga, Meditation and spirituality.

Several organizations and individuals, including the Khanapara Sahitya Chora, Chachal Satadal Sakha Sahitya Sabha, Brihattar Chachal Senior Citizens’ Association, Upper Chachal Bihu Sanmilan, and Chachal Rajhuwa Namghar Committee, have congratulated Dr Hazarika on receiving the ‘Bharat Gaurav’ award.
