Nitin Nabin’s Impressive Political Journey
Born on May 23, 1980, in Ranchi (then part of undivided Bihar, now Jharkhand), Nitin Nabin comes from a strong BJP legacy. His father, the late Naveen Kishore Prasad Sinha, was a founding member of the party and a prominent leader associated with the JP Movement. Following his father’s demise, Nabin entered politics at the remarkably young age of 26.
He made his electoral debut in 2006, winning a by-election from the Patna West Assembly constituency. After delimitation, he shifted to the Bankipur seat in Patna, which he has held continuously since 2010. Nabin secured victories in the Bihar Assembly elections of 2010, 2015, 2020, and most recently in 2025, establishing himself as a five-time MLA with an impeccable track record.
His ministerial experience includes three stints as a Cabinet Minister in the Bihar government under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He handled critical portfolios such as Road Construction, Urban Development & Housing, and Law & Justice, earning praise for his administrative efficiency and focus on infrastructure development.
Within the BJP organization, Nabin rose through the ranks of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), serving as its Bihar State President and later as National General Secretary. He also took on responsibilities as the party’s in-charge for states like Chhattisgarh and Sikkim, playing a key role in alliance management—particularly the BJP-JD(U) partnership in Bihar—and contributing to the NDA’s electoral successes.
