Guwahati, January 7, 2026 – The second hearing in the high-profile multi-crore online trading scam case is taking place today at the CBI Special Court in Guwahati.
The first hearing was completed on December 12, 2025. During today’s proceedings, three of the accused – actress Sumi Borah (also known as Sumi), Bishal Phukan (Bishal), and Tarkik Borah (Tarkik) – are required to appear in person before the court.
The case, registered under number 29/2025 in the CBI Special Court, involves four main accused: Sumi Borah, Bishal Phukan, Tarkik Borah, and Abhijit Chand (Abhijit Chanda). All four have been granted bail by the court, subject to several strict conditions.
This case is part of the larger CBI investigation into Assam’s massive online stock trading fraud, which has shaken the state and involved allegations of defrauding thousands of investors. Further updates are expected as the hearings progress.
