CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Warns: “Infiltrators, Beware!”
Guwahati, January 6, 2026 – The Assam government’s relentless crackdown on illegal infiltration continues, with authorities recently pushing back 13 individuals attempting unlawful entry across the international border near Sribhumi district.
Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the development on social media, reiterating the state’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding its identity and security. In his post, he stated: “Our every action conveys a clear message—infiltrators, beware!”
The operation, carried out jointly by the Border Security Force (BSF) and Assam Police, highlights their heightened vigilance amid reports of increased attempts to cross from Bangladesh, exploiting regional instability in recent months.
The Chief Minister emphasised the government’s resolve to protect Assam’s existence and fully restrict infiltrators’ entry. Ongoing successes are attributed to the alertness of police intelligence and border units, which have consistently foiled such attempts.
Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during a visit to Assam, reinforced the Centre’s stance, pledging to detect and address infiltrators nationwide and urging residents to support the BJP for another five years to render the state infiltration-free.
Beyond borders, the state has ramped up monitoring in urban and rural areas, with thorough document checks and surveillance of suspicious activities. Officials have assured that border security will be further strengthened, maintaining a zero-tolerance policy against illegal infiltration.
