Assam Govt Crosses 1.5 Lakh Job Mark: 6,347 Grade III Appointment Letters Distributed Today in Guwahati

Guwahati, January 10, 2026 — The Assam government is on track to set a historic record in employment generation, having already crossed the 1 lakh job target and moving swiftly towards 1.56 lakh fresh appointments in the state.

In a grand ceremony held today at the Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex, Sorusajai, Guwahati, appointment letters were formally distributed to 6,347 successful candidates selected for Grade III posts through the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE).

This latest distribution follows the Grade IV appointment ceremony conducted on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the newly inaugurated Jyoti-Bishnu International Art and Cultural Centre in Khanapara, where 4,374 newly appointed Grade IV employees received their letters in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, who personally congratulated the appointees.

Another important event is scheduled for January 12, 2026, at the Gauhati Medical College Auditorium, where 292 candidates from the tea tribe community who qualified under a special ADR category will receive their appointment letters.

Once the ongoing ceremonies are completed, the total number of fresh government jobs provided by the Assam government under the ADRE process will reach an impressive 1,56,677 — a significant milestone in youth employment and empowerment.

The series of large-scale, transparent recruitment drives has been widely appreciated for providing equal opportunities across categories and departments, fulfilling the government’s promise of merit-based job creation for the youth of Assam.
