Conrad Sangma, the National People’s Party (NPP) leader, took oath as the Chief Minister of Meghalaya for the second time on Monday in a grand ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan in Shillong. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda, Governor Satya Pal Malik and other dignitaries.
In his speech, PM Modi congratulated Sangma and his team on their victory in the recent Meghalaya Assembly elections and expressed his confidence that under Sangma’s leadership, Meghalaya will continue to progress and prosper.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also addressed the gathering and praised Sangma’s leadership and commitment to the welfare of the people of Meghalaya.
BJP National President JP Nadda congratulated Sangma and his team and expressed his party’s commitment to the development of Meghalaya.
The ceremony was marked by traditional cultural performances showcasing the rich and diverse culture of Meghalaya.
Sangma’s return to the Chief Minister’s office comes at a time when Meghalaya is facing multiple challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing border dispute with Assam. His leadership and experience will be crucial in steering the state towards a brighter future.
