Asom Barta, Ledo, 9th June :- All Adivasi Student Association of Assam (AASAA Margherita Regional Committee on sunday pay tribute to National Freedom fighter Veer Birsa Munda at his statue located at Margherita Congress Bhawan at Margherita under Tinsukia district.
All Adivasi Student Association of Assam (AASAA) Margherita Regional Committee Sanjay Barla,vice president Sebastian Turuwaar and Wilson Purty, cultural secretary Joseph Bolbandia,Ledo sub Committee president Manoj Rautia, Assam Adivasi well wisher and Journalist Dipak Kharia among other were present during the tribute ceremony. More than 1000 candles were lighted to pay tribute to Veer Birsa Munda at Margherita Congress.
Sanjay Barla president of All Adivasi student Association of Assam(AASAA) Margherita regional committee said that Veer Birsa Munda who sacrifice his life for our country for independence but unfortunately Adivasi community people living in Assam and all our country have been deprived, exploited and cheated in the name of development.
AASAA has been raising voice for ST status, to give Rs 350 wages to Tea garden workers of Assam,to land pattas and many other burning problems but after 77th years of our country independence nothing has been given to Adivasi community people said Sanjay Barla.
