Assam CM Inaugurated Projects Worth ₹894 Cr In Majuli

As part of ‘Fortnight for Development’ initiative Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma laid foundation stones and inaugurated projects worth ₹894 cr in the Majuli district. Also distributed cheques to families affected by land acquisition for road construction.

During a programme, Sarma stated that projects worth Rs 40,000 crore would be inaugurated or launched in various districts over the next few months.

FOUNDATION STONES:
✅Main campus of Majuli Cultural University ₹51 cr
✅Upgradation of ITI at Bangaon – ₹5 cr
✅Central Mid-Day Meal kitchen (₹14 cr) in collaboration with Akshaya Patra Foundation
✅Ring bund along Brahmaputra from Jabarchuk to Haldhibari ₹29 cr

✅Construction of 6 roads – Pohardia-Alimur, Adi Elengi-Pohumara, Tekelifuta-Patia Tin Ali, Bhakat Chapari-Jamuguri Tin Ali, Bahguri-Moharichuk and Garhmur Okhalchuk road to proposed office of Assam Police Radio Organization – ₹19 cr
✅Several 33x11KV power sub-stations

On Saturday, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 19 projects worth Rs 425 crores in the state’s Biswanath district as part of the Assam Government’s ongoing ‘A Fortnight for Development.’

Himanta Biswa Sarma laid the groundwork for 12 new development projects in the legislative assembly constituencies of Biswanath, Gohpur, and Sootea, as well as 19 new projects in the Behali legislative assembly constituency.

The new projects under Sootea LAC are:
• Erosion prevention and reconstruction of affected areas on left bank of Solengi River; Cost: Rs 24.49 crores
• Dikrai Wholesale Market development; Cost: Rs 2.99 crores
• Assam Distribution System Enhancement and Loss Reduction project at Tupia; Cost: Rs 8.8536 crores

The new projects under Gohpur LAC are:
• 5-km road from NH 15 to Pahukata at a cost of Rs 5.89 crores
• 5-km road from NH 15 to Amdoiguri at a cost of Rs 5.90 crores

The new projects under Biswanath LAC are:

• Integrated DC office complex at a cost of Rs 50 crores
• Circuit House at a cost of Rs 11 crores
• Sports Complex at a cost of Rs 50 crores

Continuing ‘Fortnight for Development’, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated & laid foundation stones for 14 projects, including a ₹631-cr Medical College at Bogorijeng, in Golaghat district.


The Chief Minister was in the Golaghat district on December 9, as part of his ongoing project throughout the country. Golaghat is the eleventh district on the list, following Bongaigaon, Tamulpur, and Morigaon, which the chief minister visited recently.
Thousands of people attended today’s event, which was held at the Samannay Khetra in Golaghat.

This event was also attended by several ministers, MILAS, and other state dignitaries. Speaking on the occasion, Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized the contributions of famous personalities from this region as well as the district’s rich heritage dating back to the Ahom days.
