Guwahati, March 19: Four Assam Civil Service (ACS) officers have been suspended over alleged financial irregularities in projects executed under the MP Local Area Development Fund.
The CM’s Special Vigilance Cell conducted an inquiry into the allegations and found “irregularities and anomalies” in the utilization of funds and execution of works of Rajya Sabha MP Ajit Kumar Bhuyan for 2021-22 and 2022-23.
The suspended officers, including the deputy secretary in the Home and Political Department, and the additional deputy commissioner and assistant commissioner of Kamrup Metropolitan, have been placed under immediate suspension.
